Drawing Reading and Writing Triangle ...Description
Drawing Reading and Writing Triangle, is a FREE program created and taught by local Children's Book Illustrator/Author Lori McElrath Eslick. for children, Grades 3-5.
This program was developed and taught in a traditional "in-class" setting, and Newaygo Library is excited to offer it in the Library.
This is a 5 Session Program, with the class meeting at Newaygo Library on Thursdays: 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, and 11/18.
We have space for up to 10 children, Grades 3 - 5.
The program goals include:
- Drawing a story's "cover art" (simulation) to enhance fine arts education, and to know the steps an illustrator goes through to create a cover art painting that tells a story on the book\'s cover.
- Encouraging students to appreciate ownership of their creativity in drawing and writing.
- Learning the process of creating a story from development of ideas in an outline, re-writing to completion including binding finished project if available.
- A watercolor painting.
This program is funded in part by the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs.
